Classical with a Twist (performance 2)

Joseph Haydn String Quartet in E flat major, Op. 33 no.2 (The Joke)
Francis Poulenc Sonata for Horn, Trumpet and Trombone, FP 33
A selection of close harmony arrangements

The informal atmosphere of this intimate 18th century theatre is second
only to your own sitting room. Humorous and entertaining works by
two of classical music’s most witty composers make up the first half; the
second comprises close harmony arrangements of popular repertoire
including folk and pop songs and numbers from musicals. The programme
shows off the virtuosity of our visiting players and singers – who will also
introduce the music. A plated meal is served at the interval and the bar is
open throughout the evening.
