The Family Concert – Peter and the Wolf

Sergei Prokofiev Peter and the Wolf, Op.67
(Chamber arrangement by David Matthews)

pandw_smfThis brand new feature of the Festival is a very informal concert for families with children up to and including junior school age. Enter our enchanted forest to discover Peter and the Wolf – and the bird, the cat, the duck, Peter’s grumpy grandfather and the huntsmen. The adventure begins on the day that Peter goes out into the forest leaving the garden gate open. The duck that lives in the yard takes the opportunity to go swimming in a pond nearby…

Join the adventure with our musicians and discover how musical instruments can tell a story. Become part of the action by making your own animal mask; expect audience participation; bring cushions.
