Volunteering and Hosting
Southwell Music Festival is uniquely embedded in the local community, and relies on an enthusiastic band of volunteers working during the Festival, and in some cases, all year round in a range of volunteer roles ranging from hosting musicians to stage management and front of house.
Volunteering: Front-of-House
We will shortly be looking for people to help welcome our audiences – watch this space!
Hosting
One of the most enchanting aspects of the Southwell Music Festival is that our visiting artists are hosted by local residents. Many hosts have been hosting the same artists for years and have developed firm friendships through the experience! If you live in or near Southwell, have a spare bedroom and can provide a simple breakfast (no other meals are required), then we would love you to consider becoming a volunteer host.
We take into consideration the days you are available to host (you don’t need to be available for the whole week), and even just one or two days is greatly appreciated. To say thank you, all volunteer hosts can enjoy Priority Booking for Southwell Music Festival concerts and receive an invitation to a special thank-you event, where you can meet with other hosts and musicians for an informal evening of music performances and refreshments.
I really enjoyed hosting a musician. She was lovely – good company, very considerate and the perfect house guest. I felt part of the Festival because I was hosting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, attending a number of concerts. I’m looking forward to doing it again!
